Hey, I own Rezillo Entertainment LLC in SecondLife and I wanted a shop for us. Unfortunately, I am a basic member so I can't own land. A friend of mine had some land that didn't have autoreturn switched on so I flew upto 120 meters and built a skyshop. I am now in the stage of building the store and I am building an elevator on the ground that goes up to my shop. I will soon post where my shop is when it's finished so that you can visit it. If you want a shop or some land without paying the hefty mall shop rental fees, this is the way to go.

Do you have your friend's consent for this?

Yeah, untill they hit return objects and your shop disappears that is.

What's your friend going to do when he goes to build something and find out you've used up all his prims?

If he's purely an SL friend? Probably (return) followed by removal from friend list. If he's particularly pissed ... one new entry on ban list.

If he's kind perhaps just a (return) and a warning to not do it again.

Oh...wait until customers are in store, and mark land as unsafe before autoreturning...if particularly pissed.

*Then* the ban entry. :D

Charlie, you could always rent some land for your store. You don't need to be a premium account holder to rent land. I've seen some excellent stores set up on 512 sq m plots. And if anyone remembers The Elbow Room, it was a very successful club built on a 512 sq m plot.

I believe the Elbow Room has been rebuilt?
