You are the master of the bland short-lived thread. I bow to you.

Yeah, I'm getting kind of sick of the peanut gallery popping in all the time to announce who has "won." The competition, of course, based largely on who has been the least helpful.

The optimistic image with the cheerful view of 1.7 came from Second Opinion one of the newsletters we can subscribe to. I just happened to see it last night, possibly around the time I was posting on the .1 and .2 time dilation and ~10 Sim FPS (and lower) in Ahern.

Are they kidding?

OK first off let’s get real here. This is FAR from heaven. I have experienced nothing but bad times since this update. In Weber we had some new patch installed which was supposed to fix our problems. It helped temporarily but still we get the major spikes in time dilation which renders any visitor's experience to my Village pretty unpleasant.

In addition texture rez problems are extremely bad and make it hard for me to build or work with any textures in inventory at all. I have fallen extremely behind on build projects and repairs to my village due to this.

To turn around and read: "After much anticipation, a new Second Life is here, featuring optimized frame rate and graphics (gamers rejoice!), ...."

I am not rejoicing! nor is ANY person I have spoken to yet.

Our experience in Second Life has taken only a downward turn and it has lasted WAY too long. And meanwhile we still have no offer of any kind of monetary relief for the lack of function in game. This is not the sort of thing that people will continue to pay for without resolve for too much longer I can tell you and I know I am far from alone in my thinking.

Linden, what is happening? When is the REAL fix? When are you truly going to lead us into the Promised Land and get SL back on track so we can feel normal again and not feel you are only taking our money and ignoring customer service and technical support?

I seriously hope for some REAL reply and not the generic "We are aware of problems" I would like to hear a REAL answer.

They almost certainly can and will get the problems fixed, it just won't be as fast as we users would like. I believe there will be a patch this week, check the announcement forums for details, and the general and technical forums as well, since they often make announcements in some oddball place in response to a question instead of taking the time when they get the question to open a new window and make the announcement where it ought to be.

There is so much talk of theology and God and evolution in the forums I found the 1.7 Heaven headline in the Second Opinion newsletter to rather amusing.

I think we can assume the optimistic headline and story was written before the 1.7 version was put into effect.
