There was a vote on this in the UK the other day, and apparently (according to Blair, SkyNews and BBC News 24) the public says the result was not what they wanted.

- Is it right to detain someone for 3 months without charge even if it turns out they're not a terrorist?

- How about for a month instead? (it's currently 14 days)

What do you think?

Hey to slightly hijack - I was listening to Blair speaking to Parliament the other day, and not being from the UK I was a little confused. He made a comment, and it sounded like everyone in the room said this:

"Muh-Muh-Muh"

what's that mean?

Blair is mistaken about the public and the stats he uses are questionable at best.

BBC put up a second poll and that says that most people *dont* agree with him.

Yikes. Really classy associating the opponents of this bill with Osama bin Laden. I think the only reason people read it nowadays is to beat off to the Page 3 girls.

Isn't the Sun a Rupert Murdoch-owned publication? I recall reading that it was, and that article makes it come off more wacko than Fox News.

I think it means "But Maawwmm, all the other guys get to arrest people. My friend George does it whenever he wants. You never let me do anything! I hate you!"

I didn't see the bit you mean, but it was probably 'Hear, Hear' - which means 'I agree with what you are saying'. The way they say it, it comes out like 'Muh-Muh'.
