Post about drinks that you dont understand here.
My offering is, Coke Blak. It is a carbonated mix of Coke and Coffee. I tried it but I dont get it. It is not enough of Coke to just enjoy as a soft drink. And if I want some coffee, I would rather have, well, coffee. Both are great drinks on their own, but why was it decided it was a trendy and sophisticated thing to have both in the same bottle? You can look up the website yourself and see special they think it is. I didnt hate it, but it is the most pointless excuse for hipness I have seen so far. The clerk actually laughed about the 8oz bottle costing more than the two liter bottle of Coke I was also buying.

Coke Blak is an abomination. I bought one, and I will go to my grave regretting it. My favorite bizarre beverage is sitting in my fridge right now. Well... actually I don't know if I'll like the beverage at all. I'll find out if I ever work up the courage to open it. It's a lychee-flavored Ramune soda. It apparently has some kind of glass ball acting as a stopper. One of the stoppers, anyway. It's also securely sealed with plastic. The opening instructions are more complex than the owner's manual for my car. I love the Japanese. Here, we just... put a cap on the soda. We don't make it an adventure.

As a fan of Coke and a sucker for new stuff, I bought a Coke Blak without knowing what it was. Drinking it while driving home, it took half a bottle (a small bottle, I know) before I pinpointed the weird taste as that of coffee. I am still a little befuddled as to what I was supposed to get from it.
As you say, not sickeningly awful, but....WTF is that for?
I had a Jolt Cherry Bomb last weekend. The can said in small print "contents under pressure". I wish I had seen that prior to opening it, I might still have both eyes.

Coke Blak... tasted it, nearly gagged, still trying to figure out what they were thinking taking two of my favorite beverages and screwing them up so badly.

Redbull NesQuik strawberry milkshake.
Oh... It's not real, but I used to make them in college. Simply get about half a small bottle of strawberry milk and pour in a can of redbull. The head on it will be almost like a meringue. Pepsi and milk was another favorite back in those days.

I've gotta jump on the harsh on coke blak bandwagon.
HOW TO MAKE YOUR OWN COKE BLAK.
You need: 1x Bottled coca-cola 1x Cup of coffee 1x Long stirring stick
This works better if the coffee is fresh. Brew coffee, pour into mug. Set coffee into fridge until cold. Open coca-cola bottle. Drink 1/2 contents. Pour coffee into bottle. Stir well. Drink.
Its like, all the other goofy coffee drinks out there sweeten it up or give it a coconutty kinda taste. Coke blak tastes like coke with black coffee added. And its some of the nastiest sh*t to ever be put in a bottle.

I buy ramune by the casefull from an asian market. I love it. Lychee is pretty good, I still like the original flavor though. And melon makes a great icecream float with vanilla icecream.
Strangest novelty drinks... hmm...
Well, I gotta say Pocari Sweat is pretty damn confusing. So is Calpis water, even more so. But neither are particularly novelty-ish.
Something I'm HOPING is just trendy and goes away is flavored water. It doesn't taste like water with strawberry in it, it tastes like cat ear medicine or something, damnit.

LOL.... thanks, I'm going to be giggling about that all evening. I still think that new Tab energy drink is pretty wierd... do that many people still drink Tab? I did when I was a teenager, but then I got older and wiser. This reminds me of a story I read about that big Coke World attraction, where the Coke HQ is... it has a display of soft drinks from around the world, some of which are apparently pretty nasty.

Anyone remember Crystal Pepsi? I think it was only distributed in select cities. I actually kind of liked it.

Clear pepsi, yup. I did something on a dare, i ordered an unopened bottle of it from ebay, let it sit in the fridge for a bit, and drank it. The stuff hadn't separated (somehow) and actually tasted pretty damn good. Wish they still had it around

Sangrial is weird. I'm still not sure if I hate it or like it; it depends on the day. Sangrial is a non-alcoholic sangria beverage. It has the weird wine taste without the pleasant bite of alcohol.

From: Chance Abattoir Horchata is pretty nasty. Dont judge horchata too quickly, it varies pretty widely from place to place. The store-bought crap cant seem to get it right; Rice Dream's take on it tastes good, until you realise you cant drink more then a small glass (due to all the sugar). The nasty powder sold at most grocery stores sucks arse - I tried getting something drinkable out of it, but ended up with this tangy grey shit that tasted like soap (YES, I *did* rinse the pitcher I made it in thuroughly before my attempt ). The good horchata is always home-made or from a local mexican food restaurant. Make sure its cold, but doesnt have too much ice added. When the ice melts, the flavor gets too diluted and it becomes very chalky. Horchata comes at a close second for me. Jarritos' Tamarind[o]-flavored soda wins out. The tamarind tang and CO2 fizz compliment each other nicely. ==Chris

One of the owners of a gay bar in SF was bored and thought he would try something experemental... It was genuinely afwul, but like all nasty things SOMEONE liked it. I tried one just to say I had one. It is worse than it sounds... Jack Daniels and Orange soda.In any case, the drink is now named after its creator.. much to his annoyance.

I used to drink Southern Comfort mixed with lemonade in my college days... but that's *not* wierd, it's good! I've also had it mixed with orange drink, which is a bit stranger but not too bad if you've run out of lemonade.
