Hey there everyone, I was just wondering if anyone had ever done a voice conversation recording for skype or google talk or any other VOIP's out there. How do you go about doing it? Any recommendations? I'm trying out podcasting for the fun of it, but I've been doing it pretty much manually by recording bit by bit. It would be nice to do 'live' Thanks for reading and thanks in advance for helping

I know nothing about http://www.loadtrend.com/soundrecorder/ but it looks like it might do what you are trying to do. Just be careful and don't pull a Linda Tripp; start your conversation by asking your caller to state their identity and affirm that they are aware that the conversation is being recorded and note the date and time of the recording. End the conversation my having your caller affirm that they knew the conversation was recorded and was done so with their knowledge and consent. Going to jail on wire tapping charges over a podcast can really ruin your day. Do let me know if this recorder works for you as I'm curious. Thanks.

Hi Introvert and April Thanks for your replies, MCIrecorder looks interesting I've tried many softwares similar to that, and so far, hotrecorder was the best that I've seen so far. It works with many different VOIP like skype and google talk and even yahoo and the sound was clear. Very simple to use and you can encode it with with encoder that is provided with it. Prior to that there were many different methods I saw - it was quite cumbersome (it even suggested that one should get another seperate computer to record) Ehh ... Very troublesome... But I've come across this wonderful program called Gizmo Project that can do a voice recording (not as clear as skype, IMO, but I think they are working on it) and the program will warn the other party that the call is being recorded so that they'll be aware of it Very cool April, I dont have a mac but I SO would love to play with garageband. Its got so many features for podcasting .... *jealous*
