Second Life, MySpace, Architecture.. and you

Greetings,

i just ran across something i thought i would share with everyone here.

there's a growing number of SLers on MySpace, as well as a growing number of SL themed groups on MySpace. but this is about a non-SL group on MySpace that has 1706 members as of a few moments ago.

this group is called: Architecture is Life

apparently, this group consists of members from the those who simply appreciate architecture to those who actually build things (in RL). as soon as i ran across this group my thoughts turned to SL and what we could bring to a group like this.

yes, i know, MySpace isn't the best venue for expanding the exposure of SL, but it isn't all that bad either. as far as networking goes though, it can be used as a fairly usefull tool.

but, let me get to the grit of this thread.

i encourage builders to come join MySpace and to join the group, Architecture is Life. show off (impressive) builds from SL and discuss what it could mean to RL architectural design and implementation, both currently and in the future tense.

any thoughts on this? am i just trying too hard? or is this a groovy idea?

i would like to post a couple pics to the Architecture is Life group photo section over there on MySpace, but in order to do that i feel i should get permission from the original builders.

i don't have any pics of any builds yet that i would want to use (except for maybe the bridge that Eddie Escher had built in Yelas) and if i come across any in-world, i will IM the creator for permission to post.

in the meantime, if anyone would like to volunteer any builds of their own, please feel free to leave a landmark here in this thread and whether i would be allowed to post a pic of such. (i will include credential information right on the pic, as shown below)

the attached pic shows an example of how your build would be presented; however, i would also include the coordiantes to your build instead of just the sim name. i would also post to a thread in the group with a little info about the build. if they so wish, i could use quotes from the respective builders about any history or facts, etc. that they may wish to be included.
