The only rational use is in stating a phrase that you want to clarify as not having originating from yourself, i.e. "militants" blew up a school today. Is is overused, though, and not an actual argument unto itself.

This question assumes that I give a rass ass about the dismissive quote, or the opinion of the person who is issuing the dismissive quote.
I know that person is wrong, unless I agree with them, in whihc case they are brilliant, beyond that, my capacity to donate any portion of shave-tailed rodent's posterior is severly constrained.
