It's about time for me to do the taxes again. And not too long ago I finished reading Ray Kurzweil's "The Singularity is Near" where he postulates a number of ways in which we might attain physical immortality.

But I thought, I'm not sure it would be a good thing to eliminate death entirely, because we'd probably still have taxes, and death is a good way to get out of paying taxes. It's like, right now both are inevitable, right? But you still have a choice.

If I ever have to deal with the IRS again - I doubt it will be with dignity, it will probably just be with a fast bullet to [my] head. :( Those people are the most heartless, wicked people I have ever met and they were the ones who screwed up (the second time) but BOY did they F up our lives for awhile.

People DO make honest mistakes on complicated issues. I would LOVE to see a flat tax. Just pay X percentage of what you owe and get it over with. The fuzzy law is not worth the benefit.

HAAAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH... yes.

Actually I'm a demon who's made a habit of possessing humanoid bodies for millions of years now.

Anyone here remember Hotblack Desatio?

That's the man!

Seriously though, many people are prophesying that this might be the last generation that ever has to die of old age. But is death something we should be trying to get rid of? Or should we be trying to get rid of taxes first?

Would you rather die every year, a screaming horrible painful death, OR pay taxes annually?

I know, it's "damned if you do"...

Aww, don't worry too much about that. If they don't figure out rejuvenation tech in time for us we'll just have to catch it next time around in a brand shiny new life. :)

And a whole new mother-in-law.

I agree.
But if we had that, it would probably confuse them. So it probably won't happen. heh They just don't understand simple math it seems. :p
