My brother is having the following problem with a Mac program called Compressor2. As I'm not a Mac user myself, I don't know how to help him. He's been posting this question on the Apple forums for many days now, but no one there seems to have a clue. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance.

I'm trying to compress clips exported from FinalCutPro to .m2v files using Compressor2.0.1 At any and all settings, the resulting compressed clip comes out with the bottom half of the screen full of thick flickering lines, and the top right corner with flashing jagged blocks. I have tried absolutely all settings (and all bitrates) in both compressor and finalcut. I've tried all kinds of footage, progressive and interlaced. This problem will not go away. I've deleted the compressor receipts and reinstalled the program numerous times. I've deleted the Quicktime receipts and downloaded the latest version. I can use compressor to make an mpeg1 or an mpeg4 with no problem, but ANY kind of mpeg2 comes out with the described result. That said, I CAN import the same clips directly into DVD Studio Pro 4 and build projects in which the output .m2v files come out with no problem at all. So there is no mpeg2 playback issue. It's just the mpeg2 encoder portion of Compressor... but reinstalling doesn't change it. So WHAT'S going on??
