I dont think this is the right forum.

There is no real flight in Second Life. I do not care how much you talk about your aircraft it is true. The security scripts and problems of going between Sims are too much.

I have rediscovered the joy of FS9 and wonder it the textures that are used in Second Life could be made into texture for FS9?

I do not think there is a market for it and would be only for personnel use. Dont think that Vatsim would want me to use it in any case :)

Does anyone have any thoughts? I do know that a lot of the textures are made in paintshop for FS9.

I can picture the below.

Tulsa Tower Orbit 918 ready to go rwy 36L
Orbit 918 hold short there is a Tarn on short final :)

LOL, I have no idea, but as a FS player, I'd love to see it.

The problem is FS9 uses GMAX models - good luck getting SL geometry exported to that any time soon. You would have to re-create it from the ground up.

FS9 is another name for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004. It is not a player but an complete flying enviroment. You can fly your aircraft in either a local mode or online. When flying online, you need to have a copy of everthing you want to see on your hard disk. The exchange of infomation is very limited.

I know, I have FS 2002 and 2004 Pro, and have, on occasion, been known to use VATSIM... the player was me, not the app.

you should try X-plane ( http://www.x-plane.com/ ).
There is a downloadable demo.

X-plane is a lot better that MSFS in many way.
X-PLANE gets faa approval for training towards airline transport certificate.

x-plane (and the demo too) come with :
- Airfoil-Maker (to make airfoils for your aircraft if you would like to make your own planes).
- Plane-Maker (to make your own planes and helos if desired)
- World-Maker (to make your own scenery to fly in if you like)
- Weather-Briefer (to get a weather-briefing before your flight if desired)
- X-Plane (the actual flight simulator)

You can design anything (most of them won't fly ? ;) ) using the plane-maker :
X-Plane reads in the geometric shape of any aircraft and then figures out how that aircraft will fly. It does this by an engineering process called "blade element theory", which involves breaking the aircraft down into many small elements and then finding the forces on each little element many times per second. These forces are then converted into accelerations which are then integrated to velocities and positions...

etc ...
