OK - I need a new laptop bag... my current one is not quite big enough for my laptop. But, I want something different... something cool, unique, urban hipsterish....
So, anyone know of any good online sources I can browse through?

Hey Juro, I've got a bag from http://www.ogio.com/
look in messenger bags. I've got the Street City Corps bag. Its a really robust bag, it fits my i9300 which is 17''. Really stylish and built well. _____________________

Thanks! Mine's the same as yours, Launa - so I've been having a hard time finding something that looks good and holds the laptop. Work wants to give me some standard-issue bag, but uhhh..no, thanks.

If I were you, I'd get a padded laptop sleeve of some sort - there are loads of them about and they're pretty cheap - and then put it in a normal bag.
Advantages: * more choice of appearance with normal bags * way less likely to be randomly stolen Disadvantages: * you need to take your laptop along with you when you're buying the bag, you don't want to get one which is too small or much too big. If it's in a sleeve the laptop won't be harmed by bouncing around a bit inside the bag so it can be slightly too big, but you don't want anything that leaves lots of space, unless you're going to pad it with other things. I have a Brenthaven bag for my 17" powerbook which is fantastic for its intended purpose - it's ballistic nylon, tough as hell, it's got a hard internal padded compartment for the pbook, loads of pockets for pens and dongles and so on. Only it pretty much screams "HELLO! I CONTAIN A LARGE EXPENSIVE LAPTOP! PLEASE STEAL ME AS SOON AS MY OWNER IS NOT LOOKING!" |

I recently picked up a Kensington laptop backpack for my widescreen 17" HP notebook. My last laptop bag was a Targus- and I was happy with its quality, but having a Targus bag is like broadcasting "OMG, there's a computer inside- steal me!"
Anyway, here is the Kensington carrying case site - I got the contour backpack listed in their Executive line. I really like it- tons of pockets, adjustable lumbar support bracket, padded laptop bay, etc.. _____________________

I like the swiss army backpack laptop bag. I have had a few different backpack laptop bags in the past 6 years. The laptop bags make you less of target. They are a must for any serious road warrior, enabling you to run through the airport with coffee in hand, pulling a carry-on and easily being able to jump over small children and the elderly because your work junk is balanced on your back
