Jenna Bush, the younger of the Bush twins, is planning to leave the US for a teaching job in Latin America, where she will instantaneously become the most-hunted person in South America by legions of radical kidnappers and narco-terrorists, the latter not only including the Cali cartel but the wacko, rabid-raccoon president of Venezuela, who has been sampling way too much of his drug-dealing buddies' product, judging from his escalating paranoia.

If this is a story in the media, do you have a link you can post?

One of the Bushes could help old ladies cross the street, find a cure for the common cold, take a rainbow and wrap it in a sigh and teach the world to sing in perfect harmony and there would still be people on this forum putting a negative spin on it.

Hey, I applaud the girl's wanting to help all the poor downtrodden or whatever, but the minute she's out of the US, every terrorist in South America will be looking to grab her sorry little butt and hold DAddy hostage for whatever they want. Even the Secret SErvice won't be able to protect the little dimwit.

If something happens to Jenna, do we pick a fight with another country that is really no threat to us?

Absolutely! If Jenna is kidnapped by Maoist insurgents in Ecuador, we will immediately invade and liberate Argentina! Why Argentina? Because they hate us for our freedom!

Maybe we should start with small steps. How about one of them actually telling the truth about something? Okay, maybe that wasn't such a small step. Maybe we should start with one of them actually sitting down and reading something more complicated than "My Pet Goat"?

You don't like him so it's OK to make fun of his daughter. I get it. Cool.

Who's making fun of his daughter?

Oh, I get it. You like him, so anytime anybody criticizes him, you feel the overwhelming need to criticize them right back. Boy you must be busy!

Saying a choice in job is an indication of mental infirmity was an attack on her, yes.

And you know what? I hated this same shit when it was Rush Limbaugh calling Chelsea Clinton the White House dog.

Making fun of people because they're the child of someone you don't like is crass and low. I don't respect people who do that, no matter what side of the political spectrum they fall on. And really, Michael, I thought you might be above that.

For the record, I don't particularly like the guy. I don't particularly hate him. And his daughters, yeah, they had their moments. But now that one of them apparently is going to do something worthwhile, I think it's low to call that a sign of stupidity. Anyone else and they'd be praised for it.

As I said before, where did you hear about this? I saw nimrod's link and it said she was taking a teaching job in Washington. I'm not saying your post isn't true, but I haven't found that story anywhere yet.

And for the record, if it is true, I don't see how wanting to teach anywhere makes someone a dimwit. I'm not overly fond of Georgie myself but when did being someone's daughter earn anyone dimwit points?

I thought you might be above accusing me of doing things I haven't done. But I guess you're not.

If you don't see the security problems implicit in this, well, what can I say? "Enjoy your outrage," I guess. I don't know how you can compare this to calling a child (a real child, not an adult daughter) a dog on national radio. It was a light hearted way to point out the absurdity of a daughter of a standing president to work abroad. So it's nice she wants to do something worthwhile, but wouldn't it be more cost effective for the tax payers of this country to pay for three or four people to go in her stead? We'd probably save a fortune on security costs. Not to mention avoiding any embarrassing international incidents.

I did find this though... guess the terrorist kidnappers didn't hear about it in time?

Bush daughter is said to volunteer in S. Africa

And this.... (though keep in mind it is only a blog, not the news story)

From: someone
But, like her sister, Barbara, who's caring for AIDS-afflicted children in Africa, the 23-year-old has shelved her dancing shoes and is following in the footsteps of her mom, Laura, the former Texas school librarian. Jenna has turned her attention to Washington's Hispanic Mount Pleasant neighborhood, coteaching second graders at the highly regarded Elsie Whitlow Stokes Community Freedom Public Charter School.

Let's put her in a castle with a moat around it while we're at it. And post a dragon outside to guard her.
