Ok, this is sort of off-topic so I decided to put it here in The Sandbox, even though it is related somewhat to SL. Is there a name for male fairies? Like I know brownies can be male, but is there a certain name for them? I am trying to find some lore on it before I start making outfits for them. If anyone can point me in the right direction I would appreciate it!

If anyone can point me in the right direction I would appreciate it! Just as far as I know... "Fairies" can be male and female. "Fairy" is a word like "mammal".. there are many different kinds of fairies and also, there is no creature that is just "a fairy" and nothing else. (The classic cute girl with flower petal wings is, I think, a pillywiggin.) For male fairies I think pixies can be male (although they tend to be a bit, well, fey  ). There's also redcaps which are grumpy old men who drag scythes around, kill things with them, and then mop up the blood with their hats. So they're psychopaths, but they're tidy psychopaths. [ObSLRelatedFairyRant: Redcaps are unseelie. Unseelie means ugly. Unseelie means psychopathic. Unseelie does not mean cute and darkly mischievous. Most of the time, those fairies are seelie because, well, fairies in actual legends are really, really, really alien. Including alien morality.] |

Unicorns & Fairies are in the same boat, they reguraly are badged as being all female.
