The lady at the clothing store was rude to me while I was checking out, and she did not take off the security tag thing off of my jeans! What do I do? It's just a plastic thing with metal inside, but no matter how much I tug and pull it won't break off. Should I take it back to the store?

For reference, it looks something like this, but more modern:

you need to take it back. whatever you do, do not break it or i think you might get an ink stain.

It's not an ink one, but I already bent the metal prong thing that pokes through the fabric. I guess I'll take it back if they're not closed yet. I go to AnthroCon tomorrow, and won't have time to go tomorrow.

What's interesting is the alarm didn't go off when you exited the store! Some security tag! And I'd definitly take the tag and receipt back when you return from the Con. She gave you cruddy service, they need to know so that they can correct the situation and their security system failed twice, at her register and at the door! Esp. if the bugger leaks ink or damages yer purchase, then that's 3 failures.

Have fun at the con!

I think they have a de-magnetizer (sp?) they run it over so it doesn't go off, but they're also supposed to take it off. Oh well, I'll take it back.

LOL :-)

This thread sounds like 'I have a safe (pic included) but I forgot the combination. Anyone know how to unlock/break it?' :-)

Just wear the jeans with it attached. Be bold and start a new fashion trend!

But, provided your needs are legal, i found this page, just by googling for 'security tag disable'.

get a lighter from the store if you not a smoker. heat up the one end with the white cap while applying pressure between your clothing and the white cap with a butter knife... it should pop right off in a few seconds.

let it cool and remove clothing.

cheep and effective. i've done it many times. seems alot of people forget to remove those things.

*Is now tagless* Woo-hoo! I took it back and they took off the 2 security things on my 2 pairs of pants. I think she was the manager, but she didn't ask for the reciept. But let me make this clear: I did not steal them, I bought them and they didn't take, they left them on. :D
