Former Enron CEO Jeffrey Skilling was found guilty of most counts (except insider trading), and founder Ken Lay of all counts, including the biggest one of Conspiracy.
Barring appeal, guilty verdicts on these very serious charges mean that the two men will spend the rest of their lives in prison.
Discuss, guys! I for one am thrilled to see these two headed to prison.

Good. The verdict was correct, IMHO.

Now we can only hope that the sentencing portion goes as well and they aren't given suspended sentences and a fine.

I can't tell you how totally shocked and surprised I was when I heard news of this on the radio this morning! After all, since when does actually being guilty matter if you are rich? Although there is no excusing the actions of upper level management at Enron, I can't say I have very much sympathy for the people who invested 100% of their retirement fund in the company they work for. When greed overpowers common sense, you get what you deserve. What are the three most important strategies in investing? 1) Diversify 2) Diversify 3) Diversify

I don't think they will do hard time. Either they will get a light sentence (in one of those country club minimum security facilities), or a certain blockheaded White House resident will issue both a pardon.

.... and then they will be force to serve house arrest where they can only leave for certain reasons, and can only conduct personal business, and company business, and interviews, and write their memoirs...
Is that really punishment?

Dubya will have to pardon them both just to keep their lips sealed. There will be no sentencing.
