Inspired by the post asking for a nightclub for the mathematically elite.
I got to wondering, what level of math prowess constitutes "elite"? Give your opinion.

I was once among the mathematically elite. Yes, I was - even though I NEVER TOOK CALCULUS! Yet - I was in Mu Alpha Theta, and even minored in math in college! (Admittedly, a split minor.) And yet - I never went beyond trigonometry! But I know what the true elite is, cause my brother was married to a math professor.

"Elite" somewhat implies that there is someone who satisfies the requirement, which rules out the last option. Beyond that, it depends on context, and what percentage of the population you want to classify as "elite".

This is a survey, i would hate to walk into a mathematically elite nightclub and discover that I didn't belong there. It could also be used by a developer of mathematically elite nightclubs to determine what kind of mathematicians to target. _____________________

If you can make a bunch of big prims into a circle without the use of
•the sine/cosine functions on calculators •the RingMaker or ShapeMaker devices •any kind of computer program to calculate anything AND if everything fits and there are no gaps or protrusions THEN you are mathematically elite. _____________________
