Christmas - Your Thoughts

Everyone always seems to moan when the Christmas decorations come out in October or November. They say "Bleedin eck, it ain't Christmas yet!".

But I think, as the days get darker, the clocks go back, and we all come out of work into what looks like midnight, we face a perilous situation. March is at least five months away, and all we have to look forward to is months of dark, and depression.

Enter Christmas, the bringer of hope. All the shop fronts suddenly have multi coloured lights all over them, everything looks so pretty. There's nice cheery tunes in every store. There's the chance you'll get a whole bunch of presents from your family. And THIS year you can finally get that 7-in-1 multi function deluxe Christmas Tree Light Set working (all the bulbs, this time).

It's certainly a 100-watt bulb in the middle of what is otherwise a dark time. Last year I put my tree up at the very start of October, cause I needed some brightness in my life.

And then after Christmas we get the new year :) By the time the memories of those two have faded, it's February, and Spring is about a month away, thank goodness :)

( on a side note, I think it is a neat irony that Jesus' birthday, even if people only focus on the presents, is a time when the whole world is filled with joy and happiness )

Well I don't care when the decorations come out, I just tend to ignore anything Christmas related until early December..

LOL...Only a true Londoner could have written that! Or maybe only a try Londoner could have read it with the right accent ;)
