I recently heard that one of the forum's most prolific trolls is also a mentor. Using several avatar names this person is known for fundamentalist and anti-scientific trolling, along with off-topic harassment of those that disagree with him in threads.
My general question to you is, should forum trolls be allowed to be mentors?

This thread is a veiled attack on a single member of the community. Considering who that person is, I am obligated to support and/or endorse this thread even though it might be against TOS. He is allowed to troll constantly without being shut down, so hopefully the moderators will show their even-handedness by keeping this thread open too.

Why not? We have everything else as Mentors..furries, straights, gays, in betweens, goths, hobgoblins and everything else you can imagine. I certainly have nothing against trolls unless they try to eat me.

Why shouldn't a troll be allowed to be a mentor? I mean really. Even if I don't agree with somone..Even if I hate thier guts in the forums to the point I would put a prim through thier skull does not mean they are incapable of telling a new resident how to get a box off his/her head or what pulldown in the toolbar they need to hit to get to thier preferences. Mentors, are volunteers. They don't get paid, they get trashed on for no reason, harrassed,shot at and generally pissed on for free. Tell ya what., it's not the love for abuse that keeps me trying to give back in world. It's remembering day one in the WA with noone but wav spamming assholes and in game "Trolls" doing what it is they do. And one poor guy who bothered to stop what he was doing and explain what the hell I was supposed to be doing. I could care less if he was Pho fucking Pot in the forums. Meh. Just explaining my vote.

I didn't vote because I really think it depends on how extreme the trolling is. Sometimes people post things not to get people angry, but to get opinions on subjects--the line between that and trolling can be very thin, so I don't want to make any absolutisms on that.
