Has anybody played it?
How much user control is there?
Is it FUN?

Ask me in a week or so, I'm in. There's absolutely no point in being in SL at present.

The third picture down from the left looks familiar to any SLer... and is that a funky telehub in the background?

my opinion ; PE sucks ass, you cannot do squat in there then kill stuff, mine, hope you get money, thats about it,
You have to input rl money to actually buy anything and everything decays, funny thing youll notice - loose money loose money loose money, and suddenly when youre nearly broke something will drop, this happen every time, try it a week or two youll see. Project Entropia Presentation movie is from way way back least 2-3 years old now. Yes you can earn money but i hope you like walking/running alot, cause thats pretty much what youll be doing ;p (played it from beta and few months out , yes eons ago) |

PE doesn't run on MacOS or Linux. I'm out. Yea... that's why I never tried it in the past. I heard there was a UPS guy looking for me with a new PC in a cardboard box though. So maybe I'll give it a go in a couple fo weeks. _____________________

Project Entropia has pretty landscspes and some other interesting things to see, and pretty good monsters. I, personally, think it encourages sociopathic behavior as the players are trying to scam money from you every second. If you go in there don't buy anything or sell anything to anyone unless you've done a lot of research. For me, as I just like running around seeing things (not getting killed by monsters and other players, though) it's an ok once-in-a-blue-moon virtual vacation. I like shooting things, so I could buy some more PEDs and buy ammo for my guns or use my sword - but they all decay rapidly and that takes the fun out of it. I probably go in the twice a year just to run around in the middle of the night when I'm in a mood. People who like to team up have great "success" but I'm a loner.

You don't need to imput a dam dime into the game! It can be fuly free if you work on sweat gathering the basic skil of all noobs and that yeilds decent cash payout!
![]() Some pole just dont give it enough credit cuz they stop after a couple days. But tere;s alot to do if you put up with its downfalls! I been playing for 3 yrs, sold 2 accounts and made a profit of lil over 900$ on each.......i stil have yet to pay a dime into any the chars... |

loose = not tight lose = to misplace <3 *ahem* What I did notice about the article is it's about the most dryly written press-release type article on a virtual world I've ever read. It's boring as hell. The ones about TSO, There, SL - have all been good reads - but I am really curious why this article is so cut and dry with numbers? There's no quotes at all, no shots of people ... just ... bland. _____________________

I hate the avatar appearance creation. Once you set it, it's stuck until you run into some NPC or other to get it changed. Also they seem to be bereft of flab. (BOOOOO!)

PE is a GAME. SL is a VIRTUAL COMMUNITY.
In PE, the main thing you do is running around, hunting critters, mining and crafting guns'n'stuff. And it takes some skills. In SL, the main thing is socializing, creating new stuff from thin air and generally having fun. To be quite honest, I see SL as an advanced version of webpages like www.faceparty.com or www.hi5.com . I play both anyway. _____________________

SL kept pulling me right back in with its creative aspect.
Seriously though, there needs to be a lot more MMOs with the user-created aspect. One thing I love about games (speaking in general here) is the ability to mod them whenever and however ya like as much as one can. With MMOs this would be in-world mostly._____________________
