kudos to McCain for placing strong despite his not bowing to the Neocons

shows the republican party is not a complete loss

there are still decent people among the bloodthirsty hawks

(the prior non partison message was sponsored by the deport the Govonator foundation of Americas Heartland Patriotic Security Trust Foundation and other non profit groups who hold no other interest except your rights!)

in troubling news, the Hillary percentage is not a good thing

I am only comforted by the admission that the results were skewed

La Giuliani's penchant for performing at NY parties in drag might not be so popular in the red states.

I love Hillary, but Mark Warner shows that he has what it takes to mobilize people.

George Allen would be a nightmare pick and I can't imagine the GOP would allow him to become the candidate.

Why do the conservatives think that Hillary will get the nomination? She's far to polarizing to get the swing voters and I'm sure the DNC knows that.

I'm still peeved that McCain didn't get the nomination in 2000. I hated watching the entire campaign including the ending with Heckle and Jeckle bickering over the results in Florida. Bush and Gore both sucked.

Considering how much they continue on the "we hate Bush, so you should too!" spiel, I wouldn't care to lay any bets on what the DNC knows, personally.

(I didn't vote for Bush in either election, for the record, and I rather strongly disagree with more than a few of his actions and policies, so save the "Bush lover"* garbage for some other thread, mmkay?)

* Lowercase "b" "bush" is another story, but that's kinda beyond the rating of this forum. :D

I like McCain but I don't think he is electable. I honestly can't see anyone in either party as President. How about we bring back Forbes and the flat tax :)

forbes is a republican. just give it to nader, he has the Susan Lucci effect working for him

sadly, i think the neocons will do another hatchet job on McCain should he present any threat whatsoever

Here is a little musing I had regarding McCain and Clinton a couple months back

With all the distrust of Washington, whichever party wants the white house needs to pull up something besides a senator or a VP. A strong governor will ride the anti-washington sentiment into office.

Edit: I just hope like hell that it isn't Mitt Romney

Forbes is a republican but most people regard him as a loon, he might as well run on the Lib ticket, he will never get it on the GOP.

I think Zuzu is correct, it will take a governor to win, everyone is sick to the people in Washington, they have all basically failed us over the past 5 years.

Every president since Carter has been a governor. Senators don't seem to fare well in presidential elections lately.

Edit: Doh, Bush Sr was not a governor. :D
