I saw him perform recently on some TV contest show, and he sounded horrid. He wasn't even trying to sing.

I don't believe I am admitting this but the first concert I ever went to was a Barry Manilow concert. I was nine and my parents dragged me to it.

I swear to God this is the same except for 2 things i was 4 or 5 (maybe 6) and I did like Barry Manilow a lot at the time, I used to sing "Can't Smile Without You" with my grandparents My second concert was not much better, in 3rd grade I saw the Jacksons victory tour. In 6th grade I started turning the corner to better musical choices with a concert of Jefferson Starship when they were kinda big and still had Grace Slick I actually saw Starship 2 years or so ago at a small casino show, and I must say it was rather pathetic. Grace really added something that couldn't be replaced I also saw Hot Tuna in 95, so I have basically seen the entire original Jefferson Airplane (although not performing together), the Original Jefferson Starship, and the current post grace Starship I don't know why I am telling you all this, but, there you have it

Ok since you are admitting to your concert background I will now admit to mine, lol.
Barry Manilow Tina Turner (awesome show) George Michael (twice) New Kids on the Block (three times, ha!) Color Me Bad (oh yeah they were BAAAAAD) STYX (sadly I had no idea what songs were theirs, but once I got there I kept saying oooo my mom loves this song) AC/DC (went with an exbf because I didn't trust him and it took me years to figure out the words to ANY of their songs, it sounded like screaming to me)
Apparantly I haven't gone to very many concerts, although I do like going to watch people perform live. Basically I only seemed to go to "big" concerts as a teenager. In recent years it's been more of a local band, whomever is playing kind of experience for me instead of big name (or at least big name at the time) musicians.
At least I never went to see Milli Vanilli. One of my friends has the distinct pleasure of that being her first concert, lol.

KISS used to have a rider on their contracts in their 1970's heyday that there were to b large bowls of M&Ms in the dressing rooms from which all the brown M&Ms had been removed -- not because it was necessary, but because they knew that if that detail had been covered, then it was likely that everything else was as well. He is on the charts because the music died in like 1984.
Actually it died in the early 1970s. The only reason I mention 1984 is because the Dire Straits attempted to get real music rolling again, and despite their fine efforts, the music has died.

Ok, here's my list of attended concerts (which kinda dates me): - Numerous Oldies concerts (old 50s-60s performers need the $$)
- The Monkees- 20th & 30th anniversary shows
- Megadeth w/ an unheard of act called Stone Temple Pilots
- Slayer
- Marilyn Manson
I never went to many concerts- never had the $$ for tickets & the bands I like seldom ever come to Pittsburgh. BTW- I like Barry Manilow!! Just for the sheer Cheese factor of his music. Watched one of his concerts years ago on this new thing called HBO at my Aunt's house.

I guess it's just common sense that Ozzy would need a doctor in the house, which is kinda sad, but also a little funny to see on a list where other jack***es ask for arcade rooms (Eminem). My first concert was Aerosmith, but I promise it only went uphill from there. ...unless you don't consider local bands playing in college town basements uphill

My mom was/is a big BM fan. I am still mentally scarred from way back when I lived with her (we're talking 20 years ago) in that I now know the lyrics to just about all his songs. The bitch.

In the article above they say: From: someone Barry Manilow is back in a big way. The 70s crooner, whose hits started to dry up two decades ago, is this week having the biggest comeback since Rod Stewart and doing it the same way. With his haircut, appearantly.
