I need more exercise. Is there an optimum time of day for this?

During SL updates, or when the login server is down.

In my opinion the best time is right before the biggest meal of the day; if I'm not mistaken, your body kinda kicks into "omfg super metabolism mode" when you exercise over a sustained period, lasting several hours after you finish. Therefore, the food you eat after your exercise period is usually metabolized a lot better than it would if you were at rest.

Just my thoughts, though, I'm not a nutritionist.

What a sensible answer. :) Erm, but if neither of those things is happening?

I find exercise is very good to fend off boredom. When possible, I prefer to do it in the morning. I am usually feeling more energetic when I get up. Take a cup of coffee before you start, it will really help.

Lordfly's observations make sense but the best time of day is the one that is most convenient as consistency is obviously the goal. I know a lot of people wh like to start out the day with an exercise routine but I'm not a morning person. I like to workout later, as a transition from work or late in the evening. It leads to a good night's sleep.

I jog outside at 9 PM. It works for me, I'm not a morning person either. Presumably it keeps my metabolism up for a while during sleep time. Not really sure though.

I would say, any time is a good time for exercise really, as long as you do it 3 to 4 times a week. Otherwise you're sort of wasting your time.

Like Ingrid, I am also NOT a morning person - I used to try to work out right after I got home from work... Until I developed a nice little habit of attaching my butt to a chair an staying glued to SL for 8 hours a day. :P

i've heard that the morning is best, because it jump starts your metabolism for the rest of the day. but anything is better than nothing. if the evening works for you, then just go for it.

I find the best time for exercise is right after someone agrees to have sex with you.

During the night so that nobody can see your hideous raccoon eyes from playing SL when you should be sleeping.
