Avalon, o’ Avalon
(Isle of Apples: A knight’s prayer!)
Through the painful forest
Of death and gloom,
I found the boat ashore,
A wrinkled women draped in black
Sat poised across the oar.
She bade me take my place,
And silently I lay,
We then set sail across the lake
To the place where hero's pray.
Avalon, o’ Avalon
I stood for all that’s right,
Avalon, o’ Avalon
Guide me with your light.
The pains and wounds of battle
Show scarred upon my face,
Lift the pain and heal them
With the powers you encase.
Take me by the hand
And lead me to your glades,
Where men stand tall in glory
Amidst the fairest maids.
Avalon, o’ Avalon
My sword I yield to thee,
Avalon, o’ Avalon
To your chapel, leadeth me.
Avalon, o’ Avalon
To you, I’ve come to rest,
Beneath your scented apple trees
I found my final quest.
Avalon sweet Avalon,
Isle, for all those good,
You welcome me with open arms
For all that I withstood.
