What is being reported is a gas explosion took down a building in New York City. A few witnesses told Art Bell etc that they thought they saw a small missile (Or RPG) hit the building but the White House is saying Gas Explosion. The Local Gas Companies said someone reported gas leak or smell but that Witness has not been found.

An Update the story is changing now the City is saying a land owner of the building was trying to committ suicide. The odd thing about this is, normally before making such a strange claim (As seen on CNN) they usually investigate for months on end. Funny that they broke their standard of rules to say this.

What? CNN speculating wildly and putting unsubstantiated rumors on the air? Gee, THAT's never happened before! :p

Old buildings, old pipes. These things happen from time to time. It's not a terrorist incident.

P.S. I live here.

I thought the new trend was not to investigate but just blame it on terrorists.

It has multiple positive effects:
- less money spent on investigating -- more time for police to do other crime-fighting jobs
- serves as another reason to invade people's privacy even more, wiretap the toilet, etc.
