I smiled as I read this, wondering whether it would be a success, and if it was how many SL subscriptions it would draw off? Sounds like it could feature the socialization of SL without the building; the sex without the poseballs. As in "The Sims," players can choose their clothing, furnish their homes, and tweak their characters' personalities. Unlike "The Sims," however, "Naughty America" lets players define their "raunch level." Those feeling kittenish might opt for the lower-grade "Sexy" level, while those desiring a full-on, hot-and-heavy session can dial it up to "Freak."
A unique attribute of the game is the inclusion of a webcam option, for those who are long past the whole "anonymity" thing. While virtual characters get naked and get busy, their real-life puppet masters can watch each other in real time. Not interested in pulling your own strings? Try a "voyeur" mode that lets players watch the exploits of others.
In addition to offering bedroom scenes, the game features bars and clubs where players can congregate and get some virtual liquid courage. And in this valley of the sex dolls, indecent exposure laws simply do not apply. If you feel like walking down the street naked, then let it all hang out, player.
Other locales include plastic surgeons' offices, clothes shops, hair salons, and tattoo parlors. It is very much like the real world -- that is, if you live in either Beverly Hills or one of the cribs featured on MTV.
Unlike "The Sims," or many other types of RPGs, there is no actual work involved. In most games with multiple levels, as opposed to just multiple orgasms, characters must toil to earn virtual money if they want to deck out their houses or buy new clothes. But in "Naughty America," looking for Mr. Goodbyte is a full-time gig. After all, why work at a lousy job, even virtually, when positions of a whole other kind are available?

With "Naughty America," interaction occurs between two consenting adults, not a man and a chunk of artificial intelligence. By integrating photographs of players, webcam options, player-provided profiles, and other information, the game goes out of its way to remind you that there are real people cracking that virtual whip. "The result is much more fulfilling and a real human-to-human experience," Courtney says, adding that the game was developed with both genders in mind. Instead of just providing a platform for random hook-ups -- a raunching pad, as it were -- "Naughty America" aims to connect people in a way that takes their mutual interests into account.

The URL for that is http://www.naughtyamericathegame.com , there is another site that is just naughtyamerica.com which appears to be more of a conventional porno site. Accept no substitutes. The NaughtyAmerica game is not running yet. The video clips look like flat cartoons, like lots of Flash animations do. Possibly the Wii 3D controller would be a good controller for online 3D virtual sex.

Should Second Life become Sexual Life for the extra PR traction? If we did, then maybe more clueless reporters would write glowing, sensationalist reviews about SL without being informed. Ah, I've mused before about having inworld webcams, because I like to have eyes on different things inworld at once as they simultaneously happen. Of course, currently, someone with a streaming QuickTime feed could transmit that onto the face of a prim on a parcel--altho I don't think this has seen wide usage.
