IMVU - An Interesting Concept

Does anyone else find this concept interesting? The concept of this, is turning your IMs into your own 'virtual world'. You can create your own scenes, etc. Its almost exactly how SL is setup, only there are quite a number of differences.

What I find intruiging, it doesn't have its own 'grid' persay. It uses other IM networks and relys on them. So, in a sense, we wouldn't have these 'grid shutdowns' persay.

I think this is actually the right direction a 'metaverse' should be going. This even has all the SL elements, including clothing and what not, but it may seem a bit cheesy at first, but hey, its barely a month old, its still in beta.

IMVU has been around for a year or more now, i first heard about it over 6 months ago. not sure if the fact that it's still in beta is a good thing or a bad thing.
