This is an issue that I find myself pondering from time to time. Where do you stand?

Grey if it's fuzzy/furry/fabric and/or appearing grey when fully lit.

Gray I use more often when referring to insufficient lighting conditions.

No particular reason, just cause.

I was under the impression that "Gray" was the American spelling of the word, while "Grey" is the European spelling.

Much like "thru" and "through"; "color" and "colour"; "humor" and "humour".

Personally, I spell it grey. It is just how I learned it. Sometimes auto-spellcheckers try to correct me though.

<insert racial slur here>

I am not European and I use grey. I also like "theatre" and other spellings like that.

MM

EDIT: This is not meant to be racist in any ways, just thought someone might bring that up. I apologize if this comes off wrong.

I use either depending somewhat on mood but I tend to use "gray" more. Both spellings are accepted, but "gray" is listed as the primary and "grey" as the variant.

The colour between black and white is green. And black is the sum of all colours, while white is the total absence of colour.

By the way, 'grey'.
