From: someone

A stewardess caused panic by repeatedly screaming "We're going to crash" when a packed plane hit turbulance.

...

And their ordeal was intensified by the screaming stewardess.

Passenger Paul Gibson told The Daily Mirror: "She began screaming every time the plane shook.

"She shouted at the top of her voice, 'We're going to crash! We're going to crash! We're going to crash!"

The un-named woman - in her mid 20s - also lobbed sick bags across the cabin when poorly passengers screamed for more.

I think this is horrible. As a Professional Flight Attendant, I can tell you that screaming is one of the first things they teach us not to do.

What about the 'coffe, tea or me?' thing? I hope that's still in the curriculum.

Yeah, if it was a passenger, I am sure they'd be up on all sorts of criminal charges, if an Air Marshall didn't kill them first.

I hate stewardesses. I remember on Quantas, they were all nice for about the first 3 hours and then they all underwent a slow transformation to superbitch status.

Recently, I saw a steward on SWA get really nasty with some other customers and all they did was ask for drinks he didn't have.

There must be some seriously nasty air pockets over Las Vegas or something because when I was flying from LA to Vegas we hit turbulence so bad that the overheads opened and stuff was falling out and one of the stew's was slammed down into her seat so hard that her leg was broken. Very ugly.

Interesting how different people handle it though, she sat quietly, broke out in a sweat and did not say a word but simply informed her co-worker that her leg was broken when the plane leveled out.

I think that there is a big difference today in the way that people are treated on their jobs and how they think of their jobs and how they are trained maybe. Or not - she could have just been a very stoic person. I just remember that when I traveled on business 15 years ago the experience was 100,000 times better than it is now.

Now I'd almost rather have a root canal than have to travel on business - that's how unpleasant it is.

On a flight last week, a lady next to me said "Orange juice please" and the Flight Attendant asked "with ice or without?". The lady said "oh I dont care" - and there was an awkward pause. The lady simply didn't care, and the FA was locked up because she 'needed' and answer.

After a 7 second staredown that seemed to last an hour, the FA muttered "jesus" and gave her OJ sans ice.

I think that's covered in the post-doctoral classes.

Classic.

People don't seem to know customer service anymore, not just in airlines.

It'll be the nightmare plane ride from hell...

There will be a fat guy on the aisle seat and a woman with a baby right behind me, and an old person who has to get up to pee every 15 minutes on the window seat. Then the flight attendants will get to our seat and either not have any peanuts, have peanuts with impossible-to-open bags, or have those crappy little pretzel things. Jerry Seinfeld will be in the seat in front of me, making airline jokes the whole way.

I'd be puzzled by the question.

Orange juice... with ice?

What's this world comming to?

It's just an excuse to give you less orange juice. Same thing movie theaters do, that's why I always ask for none or just a little ice.
