Visit the Toothpaste for Dinner Live Journal Image Scraper!

Shows all the pics being posted to Live Journal pages in real time. It goes pretty fast, by the time you reach the bottom and refresh, you usually get all new images. They all link to the originating pages. If you hit it during nighttime SL time, the Russians are posting like mad and they find the coolest stuff. Of course, there is a bunch of the "look at me taking a picture of myself in the mirror" and "Don't I look hawt/emo/goth" pics, but it's still good for killing some time.

WARNING: Some images may be adult and/or gross in nature. Please do not eat while looking directly at the feed.

Thanks - I use it as blogfodder a lot - some of those LJ kids find the darnedest things! And I don't know if the guy made it or not, but it's been posted an awful lot of times today.

Here are the other pic pages to lose some time with (again, you might see some Not Safe For Work stuff):

Random Personal Pictures - this one is really interesting as it looks for the filenames generated by various cameras
flickr recent
LJ recent animated GIFs
Photo.net recent
Photobucket recent pics
tinypic recent pic

Great link.

Does anybody know of something similar to this, but in screen saver form?

Thanks! The source of the images is an XML file provided by LJ:

http://www.livejournal.com/stats/latest-img.bml

I couldn't find an off the shelf screensaver that could take that as a source, but the search engine results for "screen saver" related things are so full of spam, there might be one.

CODE
 <livejournal>
- <recent-images>
<recent-image img="http://static.flickr.com/54/190814767_097e263532.jpg" url="http://ling-er.livejournal.com/2366.html" />
<recent-image img="http://img20.imageshack.us/img20/1466/10nz1.jpg" url="http://community.livejournal.com/naruto_icons/1081447.html" />
<recent-image img="http://www.ljplus.ru/img/d/j/djessi/134.jpg" url="http://djessi.livejournal.com/105810.html" />

From that snippet, you can see that getting the top recent-image node img attribute would get you the image you wanted. I would guess that any generic screen saver source code could be modifed to use that as the image source, then just pull a new version of that .bml file when you wanted a new pic.
