The ultra-conservative Christian advocay group the American Family Association is up in arms once again, this time over an upcoming episode of Will and Grace. In the episode, Britney Spears guest stars as conversative talk show host. She becomes Jack's sidekick on Jack Talk after the gay network he works for is taken over by a Christian broadcaster. They are up in arms over Britney's character having a cooking segment called "Cruci-fixins". They claim it is offensive to Christians and further will attack Christianity by airing the night before Good Friday. They are trying to get affliates to not air the episode, as they previously campaigned for with the show Book of Daniel, and to have people send letters of protest to NBC.
NBC's response has been that they have not made any story line decisions yet, and the group's objections are based on erroneous information.
Personally, I think the American Family Association needs to:
1) Lighten the fuck up
2) Stop trying to control what other people can see. If they do not like the program, do not watch it.
3) Remember that tolerance is supposed to be part of Christianity.
I am so sick of groups like the AFA thinking they can impose their brand of morals on everyone else.

Isn't it their right in America to try and impose their beliefs, just as the other side tries to impose their beliefs on them? Let both sides impose all they want to and see what happens. For example, Book of Daniel was cancelled. Why? Because of the AFA or because it didn't get the ratings it was "supposed" to?
Oh, and actually, I AGREE with your 3 suggestions, really. I'm just conversing about each side doing what they do and letting the chips fall however.

So, they're jackasses, no doubt... But at least they aren't rampaging around smashing lamps, throwing chairs, eggs, and of course tomatoes at shit like certain other groups.

WTF is C3PO supposed to be USEFUL for anyway, besides whining? Stupid piece of scrap metal would be more useful recycled as a toaster. But even that would suck, because who would want to listen to a whining wussy toaster? Is he gold plated? If that's the case he should just be melted down into gold ingots. Help the economy some, and stop being so damn useless you stupid bucket of bolts! R2 is 1,000 times more useful than your tin man ass, and he's shaped like a salt and pepper shaker FFS!

Oh, and actually, I AGREE with your 3 suggestions, really. I'm just conversing about each side doing what they do and letting the chips fall however. I didn't blame the AFA for the cancellation. I blamed them for their initial efforts to get affliates to not show the show, which two NBC stations didn't (one in Indiana, and on Arkansas). Book of Daniel was actually a brilliant show, but probably too edgy for network tv - it belonged on HBO. The point was that because they did not like the subject matter, then no one should be able to see it. That is what makes me ill - be offended all you want, but THEN DON'T WATCH.

I think the AFA is actually protesting Britney's acting and that is why they are calling for the boycott.
