What I learned tonight

Never let your sister, who is in her 3rd month of a 10 month "Beauty School", cut your hair.

So I'm guessing there won't be any pictures???

There won't be any pictures for a good 3 months.

I let a friend who was in barber school cut my hair once.

I still remember the scissors pausing for what seemed like an eternity, and the quiet "uh-oh..." from directly behind me.

I once had a drunk pal chop off 5 inches of my hair.

Amazingly, it turned out quite nice

When my son was 8 I tried to cut his hair for him. I *starts to tear up thinking about it again* actually clipped his little ear!!!

Believe me I never tried cutting his hair again. Not that he would have let me near him with scissors again I'm sure.

The neighbor girl (5yo) cut my daughters hair when she was 4. Was too cute to be pissed, they were lucky.

yes thats a good well learned lesson! I learned a long time ago never to cut your own hair either!!

When I was a little girl I had hair down past my waist and my (French) Grandmother would put it in "rag" curls. That's where you tear off pieces of sheet and roll the hair in the sheet and when your un-roll the hair, you have long ringlets like Shirley Temple's. UGGG!

It was torture to sleep on and it was extreme torture to have unrolled, it was like someone was ripping out half of your hair.

I HATED IT WITH A PASSION YOU CANNOT IMAGINE!

I hated Shirley Temple with a passion that you cannot imagine.

So one Christmas, my Fathers mother came and spent a month with us from the reservation. She used to comb my hair out and just braid it - not so bad.

But - Christmas night, she made a big mistake and gave me paper dolls with scissors - sharp scissors. I was seven years old and I was THRILLED! I waited until everyone was occupied with adult things and I went into my closet and I snipped off both braids and then I simply grabbed clumps of my hair and cut!

Someone noticed that I was not in the room and they found me, and brought me out of the closet, and when my French Grandmother saw me, she began screaming and wailing.

I still have a picture of myself with a big V in the center of my forehead where they just could not fix my bangs.

Best thing I EVER did - no more rag curls.

Is no one else seeing the irony of Hose Queen's situation? I mean, she's created dozens of fabulous hairstyles in SL and now, here she is, stuck with a crappy haircut for at least the next 3 months.

I think we can all empathize with your hair problem. God knows I've had my fair share of truly awful haircuts and goddammit, I had to pay for them (and leave a tip!).

Just keep repeating "It'll grow, it'll grow".

There is also hair gel and you can always come up with some fake name for an "exclusive" stylist who did your hair! Sort of like the Kings new clothes. Don't you just LOVE it??? Then name four or five movie stars who go to the same stylist. LOL

Well, I managed to put enough glue, texturizer, cement and hairspray into my hair today to make it look like I had some sort of actual style going on. Then I drove to pick up my dad, and he took one look at me and burst out laughing. When he finally managed to regain his ability to speak, he asked “what the hell is that, some kinda reverse mullet or something??”

General consensus of my coworkers is “aww, it’s not that bad.”

So you KNOW I’ve got some seriously fucked up hair going on.

Oh well, at this point it's just funny. Kind of.

(Dad's do that Hose, don't put too much stock in it and you will find the right amount of styling gel to where when you walk into the office everyone will want to know where you had it done).

Go to a hair stylist, I'm sure something can be done... either that or shave your head and say it was done for a cause (cause you hated it!)

Of course, I have hair down to the middle of my back now... the result of too many years of my mom taking my sister and I to a hair stylists, and then telling them we were boys (unisex names) so that she wouldn't have to brush out tangles or pay the extra money for girl cuts.

One word: Hats

mhm. hats are good things. and high collars on jackets. i learned this on the first day of 6th grade when i had to go to school with an "auntie just out of cosmotology school" haircut. It was right after that gal won the olympic skating thing and so it was this hamill do or whatever... the hair at the neck very short... right at the end of summer when the rest of me was kinda tanned (beige anyway, coz beige = redhead tan) but my neck blinding white. It was scary. big fishing hat and denim jacket (though I was sweltering) made it bearable.

Yeah it is kinda Ironic that one of SL's most respected hairmakers is having to hide her do. Maybe make a version of it as a joke cut for next april fools, Hosequeen!

I once gave my now ex-husband a haircut.
