An idea just popped into my head while I'm trying to work on my 30 page term paper...

Wouldn't it be neat if SL players all found a game we were interested in, downloaded the client, and all popped in at the same time, staking a foothold in it?

The game that most immediately comes to mind is A Tale In The Desert. You start off with basically nothing, but with a bunch of determination and teamwork you essentially can create a city out of nowhere.

Imagine 30 SLers popping in, and then immediately staking out a place in another world and building it in whatever nebulous image we can concoct? Wouldn't that be fun? :P

Other games could have this happen to... like Starport, or EVE, or even World of Warcraft, but everyone already plays that. :P

Thoughts?

I'm all for this! So when is someone gonna start making the SL Flash Mob group to hand out notecards of our next targets to conquer? :p

Our World of Warcraft guild, the Feted Inner Horde , has been around for about 2 weeks or less and has over 60 SL members now. You mean something like that?

Sounds fun. I think there would be value in setting dates so people have a chance to plan and spread the word to their SL friends.

Well A Tale in the Desert would definitely not apply in that case.

How bout something obscure that none of us has ever played, like umm... dare I say... Matrix Online. They probably have 1 or 2 dozen people playing at this point, and we could dominate it with SL'ers.

I recommend one of the kooky MMORPGs out of Asia that have been semi-Westernized, such as R.O.S.E. Online:

The web site is incredibly appealing. I have no idea how the game is though.

There is also that tried and true crazy French game...um, the Saga of Ryzom.

You slaughter billions of jelly beans. That's about as far as we got. :)

Saga of Ryzom is weird, but kinda fun. I forgot all about it. Beautiful graphics.

My thought is...I think you should get back to work on that paper, then think about the game idea after finals, ok? ;)

I want to start a zombie group on Urban Dead called "The Foetid Inner Circle", just for the pun.
