Year before last, some of you may remember that I created a plant in world called a "Night-Blooming Cereus" and gave it to every one free in memory of my mother. My father saved the plant from our family home and moved it across the country with him several times before it finally ended up at my home here in Florida where it bloomed on the anniversary of the night my mom passed away and then it has not bloomed since. The story behind the plant is that when we were kids we used to pick the flower at dusk and bring it in the house and as it got dark, it would open, and the scent of the flower would fill the entire house. Also it was way cool to watch it open. Well this year - it decided to bloom and for anyone interested... I thought I'd share pictures of the blooms. I had one last night and I have one tonight! Here the flower is closed Here it has opened (edited to say that I still have the plant at Furu for anyone that wants one, and they are still free - I have a general informatoin on the plant written on a note card that comes with it).

Wow - must nip down to my local nursery.
PS (in case it is needed): The word 'nursery' in the UK has the meaning, 'A place where plants are grown and sold commercially'
Can't we all learn Esperanto?
