I chose the driver as he was by far out of line in his rant.

But I still want pie

The driver.

Wish the biker would have been someone physically bigger who could have FED that shithead driver the garbage he tossed out his window. Either way, she should have fed him that U-lock.

bikers fault for havin abuse shouted at and then doing a antilittering gesture? and the driver retaliating by schuffling - driving away and returning to fight again? the second time was gbh with intent - and it is a crime to leave a crime scene when ur involved in an incident (running away from the cops)

drivers fault from a-b and back again for c

btw my brother was riding his bike last year in the road when a car that was parked opened up their door infront of him - putting my brother in hospital - they then tried to sue my brother for damage to his car (for being on a bike in a cycle lane?) - wha tdo drivers have against cyclers? ive been physically and verbally abused for being in a bus lane (hello? its a bus - taxi and bicycle lane you fool?), had cars swerve across the road towards me head on purposly (one causing me to go off the road - buckling my wheel - leaving to walk from the far side of solihull to tyseley - 4 miles with a bust bike) and veichles of various sizes overtaking without giving me any room or consideration about the problems the wind caused by them passing at 60 in a 30 zone does to ur balance

the worst offence which once almost got me killed is not indicating

INDI-F*CKING-CATE!!! look at the name of it! it INDICATES ur about to turn! it so other people know what ur doing and can get out the way! and dont wait til ur actually turning to do so! cycling next to a car that suddenly swerves towards u inst fun! when ur at an island - when ur going around it - indicate when ur getting off! then i can see what ur doing! even when u cant see anyone cycling by indicate! walking across a road to have a car turn off towards isnt fun aswell!

cars dont kill people - people do!

*end rant

- wha tdo drivers have against cyclers?

In rural Texas, north of San Antonio, there is a four lane highway that intersects another one at a right angle. That highway also ends at the bottom of a hill. Obviously there is a stop sign. Cyclists are known in the area to be a nuisance because they come out from the city for recreation and think that they can do whatever they want. Sometimes cyclists come off the hill without stopping to look if there were cars going 70 mph directly at them. One time my friend's mom had to swerve to miss one, so she did the logical thing- she turned around and threw a bottle at his head.

Another time, on the highway with the hill (which was often not busy, so a lot of people used to race their cars on it)-- there was a cyclist race. It was unannounced and there were no signs... I was just driving along, came over a hill and there were about 300+ (not joking) cyclists.... taking up ALL 4 lanes (no median) of the effng highway, forcing me half off the shoulder just so I wouldn't hit any of the dumb animals. Good god, recreational city people are stupid.

Driver. Litterbug.

Wanted to add: I'm glad she tossed it back at him. That, in my opinion, was the right thing to do. Litterbugs are high on my list of annoying people who deserve payback.

Driver, altho, if it wasn't accidental, keying the car was absolutly out of order (Ulriiiiika)..

I hope she tossed it back through the window instead of handing it back to him though, anyone who throws litter anywhere should have it thrown back at them.

I walked over to his car, and right or wrong, I opened the door and “gave” him back his food

Open my door while I'm driving and your at risk of getting shot. Particularly in a big city where it could be a prelude to carjacking... This was hardly rural montana where this happened.

Beyond that, it's just a jackasstastic thing to do. Two wrongs don't make a right, sorry.

I am not familiar with the littering laws of England. I mean are you allowed to litter there? If so the courier deserved what he got. Who am I to judge a man who's a slob if it's allowed.

All in all I think it's pretty darn funny.

I have thrown litter back in cars, with the comment " I think you dropped this". None has ever stepped out though to discuss it ( which is kind of a shame *grins*).

In general I am not fond of bicycles and mosquitos, but I guess they need to excist also.

Someone said if car door is opened, you could be shot, really? Must be some very uncivilized country you come from, where first reaction is to shoot someone ? Not to mention how scared people must be there if everyone needs to carry a gun? What happened to the old way " Yes, how can I help you? when someone aproach, instead of just shooting, just in case....

It happened in Toronto, Canada. (I think. Didn't it? Am I misreading the article?)

I come from the US, as I think you know. :)

I didn't say you *could* be shot, I said you *risked* getting shot. In an era of carjackings at gunpoint, your naive if you think you're not at risk by opening the door of a car in operation of a total stranger.

Approach != Opening my door

It's not littering if it is a food item that is biodegradable.

And it was a burger patty, so the courier said, so she should have kept riding her little bike and let it go. Some stray animal would pick that up in a heartbeat and it would have been fine.

The driver should take anger management courses though.

Well, it's still littering. I once had a cop pull me over because I dumped a cup of cofee out the window, for crying out loud. (Just the coffee, not the cup - It was stuff I had brought from home in a travel mug and it had gone cold)

That said, it's not a major offense IMO in cases like that, and the cop agreed... He just said "You shouldn't do that", basicly, and let me go.

Lucifer,That would fall under vandalism in this particular case. But go ahead, I'd love to see what happens when you wake up my husband and he calls his coworkers to have you remove it all. :D

He IS an officer after all, but have at it.

Reitsuki,
That officer was probably being an anal ass when he pulled you over for dumping coffee out of your window. I have done it with soda and no one has stopped me or bitched at me about it. They can't do anything about it either, not even write you a ticket. Just make sure you don't lose your grip on the cup.

My point was, that TONS of "biodegradable foodstuffs" are dumped on city streets daily, far more than local strays will manage to accomodate, and decomposing foodstuffs in the street are a health hazard, hence my hypothetical 3 tons of fisheads.......

..... did you really read the post so literally, or are you merely pretending to to avoid the point of it.

Yes, but this person was not aproaching with a gun, but a hamburger remaining.....

I still think its sad that there are areas in the world where people have to be so scared, and that there are areas which are refered to as carhijacking areas..but I guess I will never understand living in an area where we do not lock the doors or even bother taking car keys out

She shouldn't have opened his car door. Nevermind what HER intentions were, she had no idea if the guy was on something, off his meds, or carrying a gun. She was a moron for opening the door to make a point.

The 3 tons of fisheads are hypothetical, point being, several tons of "biodegradable foodstuffs" as you put it are dropped daily on streets, farc more than local stray dogs cats pigeoens and other scavengers can handle. Not only is it litter, your "biodegradable foodstuffs" encourage vermin, and are a health hazard.

But along with your comment about dumping them on my law, shows intent to vandalize.

You'd be hard pressed to find an officer in this area that would be willing to arrest a guy for throwing ONE food item from their car. Your 3 tons of fish put you in a whole other category and you know it.

Apples and Oranges...

Several tons of foodstuffs ARE dropped in your in your immediate environment every day, i was using the "3 tons of fisheads" to make a point, stop being so literal, and think about the point.... shhesh

It IS littering, ans whats worse encourages vermin and is a health hazard.
possibly the cops in your area need some level of basic environmental health training.

Lousy argument.
