There's an old, very offbeat show, which I think was called "The Cottage" or "The Magic Cottage," shot way back in the 50's. All the references I can quickly find point either to another story with the same title, or to archive stubs with no information filled in.

Anyway, the premise was that two not-very-pretty-at-all people fell deeply in love. And the simple gimmick was that they were terribly plain, except when alone with one another on the set...during which scenes they were extraordinarily attractive :)
