I have of late--but wherefore I know not--lost all my mirth, that this goodly frame, the earth, seems to me a sterile promontory, this most excellent canopy, the air, look you, this brave o'erhanging firmament, this majestical roof fretted with golden fire, why, it appears no other thing to me than a foul and pestilent congregation of vapours.

Wow. This is even cooler than that untouched Native American village in a canyon finally revealed to archeologists about a year ago after having been kept a secret by a rancher's family. I can't wait to see pictures.

It probably looks like my backyard. Dr Jared went traipsing up those mountains some long time ago too, but I guess he's a brit, so it doesn't count. :D

Bulldoze forest, build oil refinery.

... is what I was expecting. Boy, i've become cynical.

That's really cool... should be able to learn a lot from it. Island ecology is fascinating stuff.

"The surrounding forest was full of strange mammals, such as tree kangaroos and spiny anteaters, which appeared totally unafraid, suggesting no previous contact with humans."

Not afraid? They'll be extinct soon then.
