You Know it really amazes how low telemarketers will go. I have two recent examples. 1) telemarketer: "Can I speak with the home owner" me: "May I ask whos calling" telemarketer: "The Police" me: "Click" 2) telemarketer: "Can I speak with the Buisness owner?" me:"May ask what this is pertaing to?" Telemarketer: "The special olympics" me  ut them on hold for 15 mins until they hang up I am just wondering if this is just a new tatic that they are using or has this been going on for while? |

May be it is a new tactic, to get what they want....I've had people call asking me to sell my cellphone, so I can use the money to get one of theirs ?!!?!!?!!? Go figure!!!!! But this is my all time personal favourite: There's a few who ring up my house phone wanting to get me to change my phone service provider........ Telemarketer : May I speak to the person who pays the home phone bill? Me : Speaking, who's this? Telemarketer : I'm calling from *insert company name here* about changing your home phone service provider. Me : Ahhhh, bit of a problem there, I don't have a house phone...... Telemarketer :  Hehehehe, gets 'em every time LOL

I once had a telemarketer collecting for the fire department imply that if my house caught fire I might be lower on the priority list than those who donated. It really pisses me off that these so called charity telemarketers are exempt from the do not call list. The ones who collect for fire and police benvolent societies and the like are for-profit corporations. Only a small percentage of the money they collect actually goes to the causes they collect for, but the police and fire departments let them do it because it's still free money to them. I wonder if they called people and said "If you give me three dollars I'll give one to charity and keep the other two" how many people would be willing to give it.
