This URL only takes you to the "Unsupported Browser" page if you use any browser other than the spyware ridden Microsoft Internet Explorer or Foxfire.

http://www.yahoo.com/

I think this is not good advertising especially since I wrote Google and told them that they should captialize on this stupid blunder by Yahoo.

Another good reason to use Firefox, as if you needed another!

Edit: Seriously, I can't remember the last time I saw a popup ad.

I just went to Yahoo with the beautiful Opera 9 web browser, which I prefer to Firefox, and it works perfectly fine. I use Maxthon as my primary browser (which is based on IE) and also IE 7 directly with no problems. What version of Netscape are you unable to access Yahoo with?

How many years ago is it that Netscape went under now anyway?

Seems to work so far on Opera, and plain Mozilla.

Hey, Cristiano likes Opera too. Yay!

While Netscape, on the other hand, comes complete with their own built-in pop-ups. Spammiest browser in the world. I hate myself for saying this, but I even like IE better than Netscape.

I liked Netscape 4.76. It started going downhill at 4.78.

I just downloaded and installed Netscape 8.2 (based on Firefox).

Www.yahoo.com loaded up fine.

4.x was the golden days of Netscape, before it got huge and bloaty and spammy and AOL-y. If you want something based on Firefox, use Firefox. Opera is also an excellent choice.

Please note that NS is now owned by AOL, who bought out at least one spyware spammer, and now has the effrontery to claim to offer a spyware-alert program of their own...

If you've got AOL, try clicking it off in TASKMANAGER. It won't be turned off, unless you click on aolmon.exe no less than 5 TIMES.

As far as I'm concerned, AOL is spamware. They're simply using spyware/spammer methods to keep their program in memory no matter what the owner of the computer wants - click off - restart - click off - restart. ARGGGHHH!

It's my roommate's computer, and she uses AOL for business email. Hate it. The minute I get another computer of my own, any bundled AOL gets trashed IMMEDIATELY.

So, in other words, rather than Yahoo supporting only IE, it seems to support any modern browser?

About what I figured.

Apparently after I got the message, when I tried to use Yahoo on Netscape, they fixed the problem and it works fine now.

7.2 but I am able to go there now. Makes me wonder if it wasn't just a glitch now.

It also works fine in Apple's Safari browser. But I gave up on Yahoo years ago, so it's not really an issue for me personally. :-)
