The Senate voted Thursday to allow the national debt to swell to nearly $9 trillion, preventing a first-ever default on U.S. Treasury notes. The bill passed by a 52-48 vote. The increase to $9 trillion represents about $30,000 for every man, woman and child in the United States. The bill now goes to President Bush for his signature. http://www.breitbart.com/news/2006/03/16/D8GCPFA0D.htmlWith spending like that, who the fuck needs a death tax? Debt limit when Bush took office? 6 Trillion.

So far thats $1 each or so for every Iraqi civlilian we have killed... each death ain't cheap From: Dwight D. Eisenhower, 1961 This conjunction of an immense military establishment and a large arms industry is new in the American experience. The total influence -- economic, political, even spiritual -- is felt in every city, every State house, every office of the Federal government. We recognize the imperative need for this development. Yet we must not fail to comprehend its grave implications. Our toil, resources and livelihood are all involved; so is the very structure of our society.
In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the militaryindustrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist.
We must never let the weight of this combination endanger our liberties or democratic processes. We should take nothing for granted. Only an alert and knowledgeable citizenry can compel the proper meshing of the huge industrial and military machinery of defense with our peaceful methods and goals, so that security and liberty may prosper together

I completely agree, Neehai. This spending has gotten way out of control. Part of it is the fact that we can't get our "allies" to share the financial load in Iraq. Still, the economy is growing-if we nuke Iraq now, we should be able to make up the deficit.

-Kiamat Dusk Are you high? Oh that's right. The Iraq war is going to pay for itself. Sorry, I forgot the talking points from three years ago.
