According to the DOD, 500 prisoners were released from Iraqi prisons on January 15.

The article says that "Those released were not guilty of serious or violent crimes, such as bombing, torture, kidnapping, or murder, and all have admitted their crimes, renounced violence, and pledged to be good citizens of a democratic Iraq."
According to "Democracy Now," among the released were two journalists with the Reuters new agency who had been held without charges for over four months.

I hope the DOD is correct and the journailsts have admitted their crimes, renounced violence and pledged to be good citizens of a democratic Iraq.
