From: someone

"We believe that these elections will lead to forming a balanced government of all parts of the Iraqi people and it will not be controlled by a specific group and this will lead to solving the problems," al-Dulaimi told The Associated Press. "We will not accept that any part of the Iraqi people not be represented unless they themselves don't want to take part."

Yeah, when 70 percent of your voters turn out, you get a real good picture how they want things to be run.

The really amazing thing is that they put their lives at great risk just to go vote. How many of our fellow Americans would go vote under such circumstances? I'd bet the turnout would be in the 20-30% range if that.

What does voting mean?

vote
n.

A formal expression of preference for a candidate for an office that is corrupt no matter which side heads it because the candidates eat from two hands, the people's and the corporations'.

The "vote" still exists to placate the 30% of the domestic population that hasn't already figured out that our system is broken because our forefathers didn't exist in an epoch of corporations and consequently didn't write laws to protect us from them or from giving them rights that should be reserved for human beings. Contemporary voting blocs are increasingly predetermined using technology that has been successfully employed in the private sector for years by companies like Acxiom to target and obtain customers for corporate goods through aggressive marketing. This technology utilizes algorithms that find statistically significant correlations between the buying habits, age, sex, location, and education of everyone who has ever had credit, filled out an online poll, had a magazine subscription, or bought things online (and in about 10 years when they are of voting age, having played neopets and other immersive marketing environments) in order to classify people into behavioral and belief groups and identify what voting issues are most important to them.

This technology has proven invaluable in the last presidential election (for Liberals and Republicans) and an early test case involved rallying rural people to the Republican party around state flag issues.

This technology, when the U.S. government was going to push their own version (called T.I.A., Total Information Awareness) forward to identify potential enemies of state, was considered too "scary" and unethical and was blocked... but it is apparently okay for the commercial and private sectors, as well as political parties, to go gung ho with it.

Enjoy your vote. :)
