The main stream media likes to post a ton of negative things that are going on in iraq. The doom and gloom stuff the media puts out.

I understand that this story or the situation is not completly made up.

Very luckly, I listen to a local radio station called KFI 640, and I would like to hear what Captain Dale Dye has to say about this.

*shrug*

consider that this guy has gone through large amounts of pain and horrific things happening around him during the vietnam war, and he did this for a society that was much larger than him(like America). he was very lucky enough to survive it.

and you just called a patriotic military veteran a dictator. :o

back to the topic: of course the US Army does go after their own soldiers if they commit crimes like that. it's still a sad thing that there are some bad apples in the military.

You know the flip side of this is that it is a sign of the fairness of America. Every time we hold our soldiers acountable for obvious offenses against innocent people; we show the world that we are a country that stands for justice even when it hurts our own people. I feel proud of my country when I see justice being carried out. We'll never have 100% of America doing the right thing, but at least we can show that the country as a whole does not endorse such actions.

Give me a break. Don't blame somebody's behavior on the "mainstream media." If your friend was raped, or your sister, or your wife, you'd damned well expect it to be covered by the news. That's the media's job. It's not to report only nice things. It's not to report only comfortable things. It's to report the news. And when American soldiers are accused of such a horrific crime, I damn well expect the news media to cover it.

And the reason the mainstream media posts a ton of negative things that are going on in Iraq is because there are a ton of negative things going on in Iraq! And on any day, a bomb in a market that kills 40 people will get a bigger headline than a story about a new school opening. So don't blame the media for reporting what is happening in Iraq. That's their job.

I have to agree. The actions of a few don't represent the country as a whole. There are plenty of bad people in the US, just as in any other country.

War Crimes Tribunal
07-09-2006 18:30
It is my understanding that for a "War Crimes Tribunal" to be formed and carried out...it does not simply look at the matter of crimes that take place on an individual basis during a time of war. Rather, they address LARGER ONGOING issues of serious crimes, against a large number of people, in a systematic way.

Genocide, wholesale rape and abuse, by the military approved by commanders as policy. Not soldiers for individual crimes that already have a method for being dealt with, either by civilian or military law. In this case, both Iraq, and the United States have legitimate recognized legal governments, and either one is able to handle the charges of these 5 soldiers.

I do not expect to see any War Crimes Tribunal for this issue.

Now....Guantanamo Bay? Well....time will tell.

their job is to sell papers and commercial slots, reporting the news is secondary to that.

"The main stream media likes to post a ton of negative things that are going on in iraq."

Did you never entertain the possibility that the mainstream media report on a lot of negative things going on in Iraq because there are a lot of negative things going on there?

What's happening in Iraq is far worse than what the corporate media is reporting.

Far worse.

You have never posted anything other than rhetoric. truth? not hardly, you don't post any supporting facts to prove your "truth" at least Kendra makes an effort and posts links. Heres a summary of your posts, "Dictator George is responsible for all the problems in my life"
