This video is a couple months old, but I found it pretty riveting. Wafa Sultan is a female Arab-American psychologist who appeared on Al-Jazeera to debate the topics of terrorism and religion. I was extremely impressed by not only her stance, but the strength of her convictions.

Three cheers for rational secularists. Can you imagine if that had been on Fox or CNN? They'd never have let her go on at such length, especially with an atheist viewpoint. I thought her commentary was right on.

Agreed! She is a very sharp lady. I have been longing to hear this since 9/11/01. In no way am I saying that the West does not have its own responsibilities in this clash, but it is refreshing. Thanks Chip  |

I'd love to have seen the whole segment, especially what the other guy had to say before she got her chance to speak. The only fault I can find is that she's a bit too easy on other religious fundamentalists (some of whom are just as bad in the West), but since they were speaking specifically about Islam it's understandable. In the broader sense I agree with her completely.

I was wondering the same thing because it does look to be a bit edited in some parts. I am actually suprised she was able to say as much as she did though. I do agree with everything she said. I wish things were different and that the world as a whole could be more respectful of each others beliefs, whatever those beliefs may be. Someday maybe this will be the case before "this whole shithole goes up in flames" 'Jim Morrison'. |
