Hi,

I have a Dell Laptop running Vista and a ATI X1800 graphics card. I have never been able to get it to run. I have played with the shortcut settings to run compatible, run as admin, etc. but no luck.

The program starts up, I get the black screen right before the login, and then it crashes so I can't get to the preferences dialog to change anything.

I know there is config file on SL directory and there are command line options. Could someone tell me how to setup it up to run in the most minimum mode possible, with every feature possible turned off so I can see if I can get the thing to run.

You have Vista & Ati , thats the problem ,
wont run quite so easy on vista unless you have nvidia card yet.

Ati's opengl drivers/vista is bad, even worse off when its on a laptop, there is a -noprobe command but i dont think it will do much.

Your best bet to get it running with an ATI is probably to install XP (you can set it up as dual boot).
