QuickTime 7 (beta) for Windows has been released. Look on the quicktime website, follow free download for MAC and watch for a small note about Windows Beta version - follow that.
Why QT7? Because it supports H264 codec - a better system than old MPEG4. Quality is better at 150k rate, and bitrate is more stable. H264 can produce a 30k bit/sec vid stream and look 'as good' as RealVideo, something that MPEG4/xvid cannot do at all!
PROBLEMS: It looks like QT7 beta for windows does not work with some or all AMD CPUs. ie. it will crash. If that happens for you, re-install QT6.5 (It is still on website) and post complaint to Mac's QT forum.
It would also be good to see 'works' and 'crashes' posts here, BUT if you do that please include 1) OS you are using, 2) CPU type and speed you are using. 3) What type of video streams you were watching, else your post is of little value.
Here's mine: QT7 works on Win2k Intel P4 2.4G with MPEG4 and H264 streams, also works
on a 1.1G PIII laptop running XP Pro with MPEG4 and H264 streams.
