I have been playing SL for about 5 months now and everything has been ok, except for now every time I open the program and log on, it says something about logging queue and then the program freezes. Also a very weird thing has been happening every time I open the SL program, it sucks about 600 MB off my hard drive! I looked and I had 3.7 GB and then as soon as I opened SL, I had 3.1! Then I tried it again, and then I had 2.5! What is happening with SL!
Oh yeah, and in case this would help, I have an iMac G4 with Mac OS 10.3.7

Hi Tyler Login problems are universal at the moment, there's been an issue there for a few days. It has been taking me 5 to 10 minutes to get in on occasion, and yes I've had the spinning beachball for a while but it does eventually respond and log in. I gather the problems should be dealt with fairly soon. As regards your hard drive space, SL uses a disk cache for in-world content etc. This is adjustable in the SL user preferences to anything up to 1Gb. You've probably got the default setting there. Having said that, the cache should remain persistant when SL is not running so if it is only using the space when you actually run the program, the other possibility is you do not have much physical RAM installed and the system is using disk space for virtual memory. Both OS X and SL like lots of memory - if you're running 512Mb or less, getting as close to 1Gb (or more) as you can should give you a speed improvement. So, in both cases, I don't think there's anything out of the ordinary for you to worry about

When SL crashes, it doesn't necessarily clear out the cache it uses. So the next time it starts, it creates a new file.
Have had it happen both on Mac and PC, although moreso on the Mac, which I think also happens when you do a new installation.
