What do you do if you've cleared your cache, and you're stuck at Verifying protocol version... only to have to say unable to connect, and this is using a link to login?

Are you running the latest drivers? What make and model of CPU, motherboard, RAM and video card do you have?
Alternatively, it could be a firewall issue. Have you ever been able to connect? What's the speed and capacity of your internet connection? What kind of router do you have? You DO have broadband, right?
