My SL is apparently invisble...

I've gone through all the threads here, and thus far haven't come across anything that sounds like my problem.

SL used to work fine for me. Then my harddrive died last week, and I had to buy a replacement. I reinstalled everything, including SL of course. I'd click the shortcut on my desktop, and I'd see the 'Loading Second Life" window. Then that and the tab below would disappear and I'd get absolutely nothing. I've waited 10 minutes. I've waited half an hour. Evenutally, I'd double click and then a window would tell me that SL is indeed already running. When I checked under 'tasks' in the task manager, SL would not be there. However, when I checked under the 'processes' tab, I'd find SecondLife.exe there.

Please, does anyone have any idea what's going on?

Running window mode or fullscreen, might try both your window seem to be offscreen or something odd going on, i gotten the secondlife.exe in task manager lots of times but usually after it crash and doesnt close so it stays in background
