I got my second Nvidia 6600 (not GT) a few days ago. The first was pre 1.6. It was much worse. I heard 1.6 would have fixes for 6600s, nevertheless I returned it. This one is from Chaintech. The SL ground and the structures on it look quite a bit better and my movement seems much nicer compared to my 4200 but the clouds are filled with horizontal white bars which is really annoying. I'm also getting a message when I log into SL that GL thinks I'm in PCI mode, though I have AGP checked in preferences. Does anyone have some ideas for how to solve this?

that one remind me of what happend when my ram got corrupted/dead,,
everything worked nice, but when i tried to play SL awhile i would noticed oddness all over, someone suggested i should test my memory, so i did
Corrupted -.- took them out, and problem was gone (the ram on my mb not on vid card)
Note i wouldnt get this in games, only in SL, so it took me awhile to figure out why only SL
That is a pci-express gt?, then it would most likly not let you tick agp , unless they did something to fix that.
Artifacts like that usually drivers, ram or overheating.
What drivers are you using now? version

Artifacts like that usually drivers, ram or overheating. Yup, if it's PCI-express, you won't be able to enable AGP support. This isn't a big deal, because you need AGP to do so. Rarely, your power supply can be a factor in artifacting like that. Do you know what make and model of power supply you have? If you're unsure, what does the sticker on the side of the PSU say for the amperage on the +12V rail? (It should be a little table with Min/Max/Peak/Etc. All are important to know, as well as the brand name and model number if it's in there.) If the maximum amperage is under 16A or so, you could have a problem there. I wouldn't rule out it being a thermal problem, either. How hot is your video card running? Right-click your desktop, select "Properties", "Settings", "Advanced", "GeForce 6600 GT", "Temperature Settings". What does it say for "GPU core temperature" and "Ambient temperature"?
