I currently bought a linksys router and hooked it up to my computer. Since then I had to use the port forwarding feature and static IP because one of the many games I play was pauseing, freezing etc. I've noticed that it has also been happening in SL. I was wondering if I need to or should set up port forwarding for the SL client to possibly cure the pausing, freezing, lag outs etc. I have contacted SL about this with no answer or anything. I basically need to know the numbers I stick in my router settings to forward the port. I also noticed that in-world in preferences under the network tab there is a place to put a custom port number, Maybe if I could get what number I need to stick in there and then I wont need to mess with my router settings. Well any and all information is appreciated. If you have this problem and fixed it or know a lot about computers and can help me fix it. I would be greatly appreciated.

As all Linksys routers support SPI, there is no need for special portforwarding.
Play a bit around with the firewall settings, some of the functions here seem to block high volume UDP traffic. Normally it should be no big risk to switch firewall off - at least for testing.
Do you run something like donkey or torrent beside? If yes, stop it for testing.
